Pacing: A Follow-up

Addendum to my 7/10/07 AM post:
I know I commented about not worrying about mileage right now, but I got to thinking about pace etc. and so did up my route which is visible above. With a distance of 5.2339 miles (I love ten-thousandths of a mile!) in 41:57 I averaged about 8:01/mile. I'm pretty psyched about that!

Awesome, congrats! The distance always ends up shorter than I thought when I map a route after the run. It's such a bummer when that happens. Glad to see that you had the opposite experience. Very cool to see the training pay off for you.

I also liked the map. Even though you couldn't zoom in, I think I spotted my old apartment in town, and I recognized the route. It was a quick virtual walk down memory lane.

Yeah, I just posted a screen grab -- I don't want to give the whole world access to my home address -- keep it satellite, but still share some info.

I'm actually a pretty good judge of distance -- I knew this route was near 5, and I have another one that is near 5 as well. Though I haven't done it on the pedometer parts of it overlap with this route, so it's close. It's amazing to think how far 26,000 feet actually is. Deep thoughts.
