Perfect day

Got in a great 5 miler that was a combination of wooded trails, bike path and a few roads. It was awesome. The lake was rolling and the air temp was somewhere in the 60's. Pace was probably around 8:30. Not much else to report. Big run tomorrow with two colleagues joining for parts. Should be a hoot.

FreeArtist, how's the biking going?

Oh, and what about getting our act together for this this year?

I'm thoroughly intrigued by the prospect of this race, but have you seen the course? Check out this link.

It's not even the mileage that is scary, it's the elevation change -- which is expected in NH, but still. Some of the climbs are not huge vertical footage, esp. near the end, but they are sharp, steep ascents and descents. There is no real convenient way to train for that sort of climbing and descending for us flat-landers.

Also, one other thing that wigs me out are the frequent cautions about busy roads -- running alone at night on rural NH roads is scary from the perspective of getting run over -- amazing I never thought of that before. Let me think about it, because it is intriguing.

Yeah, totally good luck on the run tomorrow. It's great that you have buddies to run with -- that takes the sting out of it. Have fun!

Hey, guys. I've been traveling since last Sunday and have been in San Jose, Seattle, and Minneapolis, so lots of flight time this week but no biking at all. Top that with a HORRENDUS head cold and it was a pretty lousy week on all fronts. To keep my schedule for the century I am still aiming to spin for 48 miles early tomorrow in central park, but if I get to 36, my last distance, I think I'll be happy.
