Coupla Runs

I got out for 3.5 milers tonight and Monday, variations on the same Central Park route. Aiming to get in another, similar distance on Friday afternoon, and a 10k on Sunday with Ms. FA.

Saw a pair of GIANT raccoons in the Park tonight, and a solo raccoon on Monday. Same spot, more or less, both nights. I don't like raccoons. At all.

Peace, fellas.

Cool animals, raccoons, very intelligent, funny hands, but major carriers of rabies. Kinda creepy because of that. Are you sure they weren't NYC rats? I saw a rat once in the park just above the Flatiron building that was as big as a raccoon -- and there were hundreds of them in the underbrush, and the myrtle. Mrs. A, Frater Agricolae, and I ran like mad. I hate rats. A lot.

Agree about the rats, but these were definitely 'coons. Little masks and little hands and all. The one I saw on Monday night was right in the middle of the reservoir track, not terribly alarmed by my approach. It was dark, I got within 8 feet or so of him before I saw him. Last night the one was gnawing on something dead stuck to the park road, the other scooted off as I trotted by. Creepy.

Carrion eaters, creepy.
What's creepy to me is the line I heard about Ravens: they followed the armies....
